Which My Hero Academia Character Are You?

Boku no Hero Academia tells a story of people dealing with their special powers – Quirks – in different ways. Heroes are the people who use their Quirks for good, helping society and stopping villains from endangering others.

The series focuses on Izuku Midoriya, a student of the top-ranking academy for heroes-to-be in Japan. Originally born without a quirk, Izuku’s bravery in the face of danger earned him the respect of Japan’s #1 hero, All Might, who passed his legendary power to the young protagonist.

Plenty of personalities combine and clash in the halls of U.A. High School. In Class 1-A, Izuku finds allies in Uraraka, a cheery, young woman with zero-gravity powers, Tenya, the stern class rep who has powerful leg enhancements, and Tsuyu, whose Quirk gives her frog-based abilities.

Izuku is beloved by his friends and classmates for his selfless, down-to-earth nature. In sharp contrast is Katsuki Bakugo, an ace student primed with a fiery temper to match his powerful Explosion quirk. Overconfident and brash as he is, Katsuki is admired for his determination to be a great hero.

There’s quite a cast in Boku no Hero Academia, and the show really lays out the spectrum of how different personalities would use their quirks for good or evil, and these powers are usually a reflection of the characters themselves.

Shoto Todoroki, for instance, is Izuki’s serious classmate. His quirk allows him to wield both fire and ice-based powers. He inherited one of each power from his parents, but due to a conflict with his father, he dislikes using his fire abilities. His half-and-half nature can be seen in his looks and temperament; initially cold and aloof, he learns to warm up to others over time.

Another interesting character is Fumikage Tokoyami, whose quirk allows him to control a powerful shadow creature. He is portrayed as somewhat weird, tending to go into periods of quiet brooding and giving dramatic speeches, although this doesn’t detract from his consummate work ethic. To strengthen his quirk, Fumikage trained in a dark cave despite the risk of being overpowered by the creature.

Other young characters, like villains Toga and Shigaraki, offer a glimpse at how power corrupts personality, while Pro Heroes like All Might, Nezu, and Recovery Girl act as role models for how the strong must defend the weak.
