Demon Slayer is about a boy with a sword who fights demons to find a way to turn his sister back from demonhood herself. Even when boiled down to a single sentence, the story still seems supernaturally entertaining.
Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko lived a rather meagre, but happy, lifestyle with their family in the mountains. A disastrous encounter with the first demon, Muzan, brought the family to its bloody end, killing everyone save for a now demon-transformed Nezuko.
Despite his sister’s initial instincts being to kill him and drain him of blood, Tanjiro refused to let her give up on her humanity, and even defended her against a demon slayer, Giyu. Tanjiro’s bravery, resolve and willingness to sacrifice himself for Nezuko eventually bring him under the tutelage of the Demon Slayer Corps, becoming a Slayer himself.
